Assistant Professor
This is Md Saiful Islam, appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering since Dec 2018. I have received my B. Sc. in Mechanical Engineering in Dec 2014 from Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET), Bangladesh. After graduation, I joined the same department as a Lecturer in Sep 2015. I engaged myself in teaching, research, and supervision of undergraduate students during the tenure from Sep 2015 to Sep 2019. Over the period, I have developed my interest in CFD and different renewable energy technologies. Besides my academic career, I worked as a Co-PI for an energy efficiency project supported by GIZ, Germany. I was also the part of HEQEP and IQAC team in the department. I also led a student group named “Team Crack Platoon” to participate in Quad Bike Design Challenge, 2016, India and Student Formula, Japan in 2017. I am currently on study leave for my Masters followed by Ph.D. degree and working as a graduate student in the Department of Ocean and Naval Architectural Engineering (Fall 2019) at the Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada. At present, my research focuses on underwater noise emission and marine ecology along with numerical modeling and validation.
