Toukir Ahmed is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the department of Industrial & Production Engineering (IPE) at Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET). He is now on his study leave and doing his masters in “Tribology of Surfaces & Interfaces” with a Prestigious Erasmus Mundus Scholarship which is fully funded by European Union (EU).  As part of his masters program, he is studying at the University of Leeds, UK in his first semester. Next mobilities of his masters program are at the University of Ljubljana (Slovenia), University of Coimbra (Portugal) or Lulea University of Technology (Sweden).

He started his undergraduate studies in Industrial & Production Engineering at RUET and completed Bachelor of Science from the same stream standing first class first with honors. For his excellent academic performance, he was selected Student of the year in his department. He was awarded President Gold Medal at the 5th Convocation of RUET.

He started his professional career as a Project Engineer at Robi Axiata Limited. Then he joined as a lecturer in the department of Mechanical & Production Engineering (MPE) at Ahsanullah University of Science & Technology. He participated in different conferences inside and outside of the country. One of his research papers won Best Track Paper Award in the International Conference on Industrial Engineering & Operations Management organized by IEOM Society International.

Apart from concentrating on studies, he had reasonable space for extracurricular activities through his entire university life. He was the vice president of RUET IPE Club and Photographic society of RUET (PSR). Currently he is working as an advisor of PSR.
