Dr. Jewel Hossen

Assistant Professor

Mr. Jewel Hossen is actively involved in computational chemistry study and research. He can study geometry optimization, UV-Vis, Infra red spectra, HOMO-LUMO, various thermodynamic parameters etc. of a molecule in Density Functional Theory (DFT) and molecular docking between ligand and macromolecule. His interest is quantum chemical calculation of compounds. Theoretically DFT study of compounds for antioxidant activity.


Mr. Hossen is also involved in the food chemistry research area specially in lipid technology. His research activities include extraction of oil and antioxidant from the natural source with/without pre-treatment and characterization. He investigates the changes of food components under various treatments. He studies the antioxidant activity of natural extracts.
